Verilo Privacy Policy

Version 1.0·Effective 10 July 2026·Last updated 10 July 2026

The short version. Verilo has no servers of its own. Every photo, video, coordinate, and note stays on your device and in the places you choose to save it. We do not collect your captures, sell anything, or track you. The only thing that ever leaves the device automatically is an anonymous crash report if the app crashes, so we can fix it.

This policy covers the Verilo iOS app, published by Vyxel Ltd.

1. What Verilo accesses on your device

To do its job of stamping photos and videos with where and when they were taken, Verilo asks your permission to use:

  • Camera and microphone, to capture the photo or video (audio is recorded with video).
  • Location and compass, to stamp GPS coordinates, altitude, bearing, and a reverse geocoded address, and to show your captures on a map.
  • Motion sensors, to read device tilt and roll for the levelling stamp.
  • Photo library, to save your stamped captures.

All of this is processed on your device. You can change any permission at any time in iOS Settings, then Verilo.

2. What we collect

Almost nothing. Verilo has no backend and no account system. Your captures, location history, and field notes are never sent to Vyxel Ltd. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third party trackers in the app.

The one exception: crash reports. If Verilo crashes, an anonymous technical report (the crash stack trace, device model, and OS version) is sent to our error monitoring provider, Sentry, hosted in the EU, so we can find and fix the bug. Crash reports contain no photos, no videos, no coordinates, and no notes, and they are not linked to your identity or used for tracking.

3. Where your data goes

  • Stamped photos and videos are saved to your device's Photos library.
  • Clean originals and capture records (used for the in app gallery and CSV, KML, or KMZ export) are stored privately inside the app on your device.
  • When you export or share, iOS's own share sheet sends the file to the destination you pick, such as Files, Mail, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. Those services handle your data under their own privacy policies, not ours.

4. Reverse geocoding (addresses)

To turn GPS coordinates into a street address, Verilo uses Apple's location services (CLGeocoder). This means your coordinates are sent to Apple to return an address, handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. Vyxel Ltd never receives them.

5. Purchases

If you buy Verilo Pro, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription or purchase status, but never your name, card, or payment details.

6. Data retention and your control

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. Delete individual captures in the app, remove photos from your Photos library, or delete the app to remove everything Verilo stores. There is nothing held on our side to request, correct, or erase.

7. Children

Verilo is a professional field tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights (UK GDPR)

Vyxel Ltd is the data controller for this app. As we do not hold or process your personal data on any server, most data subject rights have nothing to act on, but you are welcome to contact us with any question about how Verilo handles information and we will respond. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how Verilo works in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
